Chapter 21 :
“The binary code commanded a full out Martian attack on Planet Earth,” said the Communications officer “I don’t understand, there are no such things as Martians.”
“Remember your Star-fleet history “The Pas Catasophe of 3001” said the Captain, “The Pas Catasophe of 3001” was taken off the education agenda in 3323. Only the military teaches it and has access to it. And it is difficult to find even inside our system. You have to have clearance and it is getting taught less and less.”
“And since there are no such things as Martians,” started the first intelligence officer.
“It is an elaborate hoax,” finished the Communications officer.
“Precisely,” said the Captain “But people have forgotten that there are no such things as aliens. ”
“So that is why they still show movies about martians and have false news about alien abductions,” confirmed another Intelligence officer.
A light begins to blink on the communications command counsel.
“Captain,” interrupted the communications officer. “Star-fleet on Earth is sending an S.O.S.. bThey want us to respond.”
“Source that communication,” ordered the Captain who turns toward the Navigations officer. “What ships are currently not working in space?”
“Let me check the space docks,” said the navigations officer.
“The USS Chung-Hoon an Arleigh Burke-class Starship named after the original DDG-93 destroyer in honor of Rear Admiral Gordon Pai’ea Chung-Hoon (1910–1979), recipient of the Navy Cross and the Silver Star.”
“What else is available?”
“The USS Germantown SDS-6 the original was an LDS-42. It was decommissioned 2023”
“Perfect” said the Captain, “Put it in an A.M.E.B.A. then look up others give me a fictitious battle fleet.”
“Sir, Star Fleet is insisting we respond,” said communications officer.
“Where is that signal coming from?” asked the Captain
“Nothing close. Not from the meteor belt or any of the asteroids, ” answered communications officer. “But if the S.O.S was from star-fleet they would adjust their communications and take into account the distance between us.”
“It is another trick,” said the Captain. “Give me a reading on the escaped meteors.”
“I have three meteors in range heading toward earth, Asteroid 128114, Asteroid 122219, Asteroid 129121, ” said navigations officer.
“A floating message is on screen” said the navigations officer.
On the screen were what looked like members of star fleet in their uniforms pleading not to be destroyed.”
The captain turns to the crew and reminds them. These are androids, robots, they are not human.”
“Phasers are locked Captain. I am lowering our shields and cloaking device.”
“Fire,” ordered the Captain.
After destroying Asteroids 128114, 122219, 129121. the starship raised its shields and cloaking device.
“Battlegroup A.M.E.B.A. is almost ready” said the Drone specialists.
